Project paperless(sorta): Un-paper towels without the roll..in a bucket

Project paperless

My husband and I were having a discussion about the amount of paper products we use. For a family our size that gets pretty pricey and our trash on trash day is a bit crazy. it's better since we've gone back to cloth diapers. We recycle ,but there are certain things you dont want in the recycling bin.

We aren't very conservative when it comes to the paper arena.
like with paper towels. They are disposable. Use it once or twice then throw it away with out a second thought to its existence. which is fine ,but I feel so wasteful! It's not about politics is just about being conservative (hey I thought you said no politics?) and taking care in what you have and not taking anything for granted. I know.. I come from the "me" generation and I'm a whinny spoiled boob sometimes.
I don't think paper products are evil either I just rather spend my money on things more meaningful.
Also if you read my part one of cloth diapering I mentioned feeling that connection with my ancestors. same tfuzzy feeling here. I love it. Brawny hottie wasn't around looking all manly and clean back then.

Hey girl.....

dun dun dun dun dun dun *star wars music*
*star wars music continues, along with a deep voiced male narrator*

In a world where moms are Cra Cra
one mom is the Cra Cra-est
she has convinced her husband to never buy paper towels again.
which is a lie because she will keep a small hidden pack for when the dog pees on the floor and when the kids catch a wicked stomach bug and puke everywhere.
Anyways I digress
wait where was I?
Anyways this is her DIY for
UN-PAPER TOWELS w/out the role

* caution I AM A AMATUER SEEMTRESS.

Have YOU SEEN THESE ^^^^? SO STINKIN' CUTE RIGHT! ON A BEAUTIFUL ROLE! BUT Whoa.. THEY MAYBE KINDA $$$$
.I LOVE ETSY

SO HERE'S MY TAKE

WHAT YOU NEED:

*MICRO-FIBER TOWELS CUT IN HALF. I ACQUIRED A HUGE COMMERCIAL SIZE PACKAGE AT SAM'S FOR $19.99 You can also find them on amazon in cuter colors

*COTTON FABRIC- I JUST USED WHAT I HAD IN MY STASH

*THREAD

*A CUTE BUCKET OR BASKET TO PLACE ON YOUR COUNTER (MINE'S FROM THE DOLLAR STORE)

DIRECTIONS:

CUT MICROFIBER TOWELS IN HALF

CUT FABRIC THE SAME SIZE AS THE MICROFIBER

PRETEND YOU ARE SEWING A PILLOW WITHOUT THE STUFFING

PUT THE TWO TOGETHER WITH THE OUTSIDE PRETTY PART FACING INTO EACH OTHER

SEW THE EDGES LEAVE ONE SIDE UN-SEWN
brought to by wittybberry.jamberrynails.net
TURN INSIDE OUT

SEW OPEN EDGE CLOSED

WASH IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE SO

YAY! THERE YA GO!

NOW YOU HAVE REUSABLE TOWELS!
THey ARE GREAT FOR YOUR APPLIANCEs AND WONT SCRATCH SURFACES. ALSO GREAT FOR DUSTING AND YOU'LL Find THE COTTON SIDE IS GREAT FOR SCRUBBING DRIED PIZZA SAUCE.... yet soft on faces!
SAY GREAT ONE MORE TIME!

Preferably wash with a dye/fragrance free detergent like ECOs
just like the cloth diapers you don't want the build up of detergents.

Hang dry, regular dry. whatever.
